Born in the Comox Valley, Jennifer has now returned as a mother of two. Every corner of her life is stuffed with a different project that takes her closer to fulfilling her many goals, art running second only to her family. During her first year in the Fine Arts program at North Island College, she has explored diverse media, developed a love for works in three dimensions, and discovered art as a powerful medium of shared exploration and self healing.
Her ceramic works in particular stand as a metaphor for human experience and states of being, exploring the concept of a vessel as the home of the spirit and personality. A second influence is her love of folklore and its narratives, which often permeate her work and set imaginations running. Hers certainly is; and her dynamic approach to art - and to life in general - is an essential part of the work displayed here.
